Modern and jazz dance are all about energy, creativity, and having fun with movement! These styles are the backbone of musical theatre dance, and they really let kids express themselves. A typical modern class will involve lots of lively choreography, leaps and jumps, all set to upbeat music. If your child loves a disco, this is the class for them!
What makes both modern and jazz so great for kids is the chance to really show who they are. With so much room for creativity, they can experiment with different moves and styles, which helps them build confidence and feel proud of their progress. As they pick up new steps and routines, their love for dance grows, and they keep discovering new ways to express themselves.

Modern dance is often a popular choice for beginners as the music is fun and lively and the classes are energetic. We follow the ISTD syllabus which gives the children the opportunity to take exams if they want to, but also allows them to build on each skill and make continual progress.
Modern and jazz dance classes are always fun and we love to learn new routines and look forward to performing them at our annual show or our end-of-term sharing sessions.
